Our story
Founder Kensey Monopoli spent 10 years as a traveling massage therapist, working everywhere from private islands to luxury resorts. Every destination meant the same exhausting reality: hauling heavy, outdated tables that weren't built for a mobile lifestyle. She'd strain her back carrying equipment up villa staircases and abandon tables rather than deal with shipping. The industry seemed blind to therapists' wellbeing - but she refused to accept it.
The turning point? Massaging Sir Richard Branson on a paddleboard in the British Virgin Islands. She was creating incredible experiences on the water, yet still wrestling with 1970s equipment on land. That's when AERA was born - not just as an ultra-portable table, but as a complete ecosystem to help therapists build the practice and lifestyle they deserve.
